Workshop for Emotional Tying & Shibari Floor Work

This beginner workshop is aimed at people who want to experience and learn deep emotions, genuine intimacy, and the art of Shibari and Japanese bondage in an intensive session on the floor.

The focus is not on purely technical knotting, but on creating a safe space where tying becomes a fluid, non-verbal communication between rigger and model.

The workshop combines psychological and emotional aspects with practical rope techniques to build a deep connection and understand the psychological effects of closeness and distance.
We host this workshop on the following dates:

Theory & Emotions in Shibari

A successful floor bondage session thrives on inner attitude and awareness. We look at the psychological factors that turn simple bondage into an emotional journey.

  • Picking up needs: How to find out what is possible in today's session
  • Closeness and distance: Psychological and physical effects during tying
  • Rigger presence: What influence does the rigger's position have on the model?
  • Reflection: Becoming aware of why I tie as a rigger and what my motivations are

The Dynamics of the Session

Tying on the floor is about harmony and flow. We learn to work without exertion and to actively involve the environment in the experience.

  • Body language in flow: How to move the model without much effort during the session
  • Mindfulness: Correct observation of the model and what we need to pay special attention to
  • Spatial effect: Influences of the location and surroundings on our shared session
  • Auditory stimuli: How important is the right music for the emotional depth of a tying session?

Practical Exercises on the Floor

Theory flows directly into practice. Using simple but effective patterns from the Japanese Shibari style, we learn to link feelings and ropes together.

  • The welcoming tie: Finding out options for what the model needs on the current day
  • Yukimura Gote: The optimal upper body tie for an erotic and emotional session
  • Rope guidance & rope tension: Precision that conveys safety and a sense of security
  • Closeness and distance with the rope: Dynamic relationship building through the material
  • Pace and pauses: The art of consciously using silence and rhythm in bondage

Who is this workshop suitable for?

This workshop is aimed at beginners who want to experience Shibari and Bondage not just as a technical form, but as a deep, emotional experience.

It is necessary to master the two-hand tie (Zweihandfesselung) for this workshop. You have either learned this with us or somewhere else. If you are not sure whether what you know is sufficient, send us an email at info@aijo-dojo.ch.

Since we deal intensively with the connection between rigger and model, the perception of emotions, and the shared flow on the floor, this course is ideal for couples who want to add more depth to their art of tying.
