A photo shoot at the new Aijō Dojo
For one of my first photo shoots at the new Aijō Dojo in Lenzburg, Spring stepped in front of my camera. Our shared idea was to explore classic bondage positions – “Old School Positionings” – in a kimono. The interplay of posture, rope and expression became the foundation for this series of Shibari photographs.
From the first message to a bondage photo shoot
I usually work with models I already know from our community. For this project, I took a different approach for this bondage photo shoot: I contacted Spring directly on FetLife and shared my idea. She replied quickly. Having looked through my photographs, she was very interested in working together.
We arranged a date and met at the dojo. Once the equipment was set up, we discussed the compositions and bondage positions we wanted to explore. This shared preparation gave the photo shoot its direction. Spring then put on the kimono, and we began taking photographs.
Shibari photography: classic positions in a kimono
Throughout the shoot, we created a variety of shapes and compositions. The kimono and red ropes framed the classic bondage positions, turning each posture into a photographic composition. The resulting images lend themselves to different media and formats. Alongside the focused rope work and photography, there was plenty of laughter – we both enjoyed bringing our ideas to life.
Our first photo shoot together with Spring
Although Spring was still relatively new to bondage modelling, she did an excellent job of bringing the ideas to life. I am very glad she joined me for this photo shoot. The resulting images reflect how well we worked together.
I would love this to be the first of many shoots together. There are still plenty of ideas I want to explore, and I would be delighted to work with Spring again on some of them. Enjoy discovering the photographs from our first bondage photo shoot together.
